Yesterday I narrowly avoided becoming a shut-in. You see they were out of Playstation 2s for rent at the video store. I still have yet to try one in the comfort of my own home, and I'm afraid that the day I do will also be the day I buy one. So, I'm trying to put it off for as long as possible.

Well, I know I have been lax in this blog for far too long, I'm doing better now... It's just that it seems every time I sit down to pontificate, the phone rings and find myself driving to drilling rigs. And since they are 14 hours away as the Sierra 2500HD drives, I find myself with myriad musings and no connection. Still, I guess you can't properly exploit the earth's non-renewable resources without 'experts' such as myself. (And before you poo-poo the oil industry realize you would not be reading this or any other blog without it. What do you think the argiles ate in pershia, Arabs?

Parenting sure is strange, I never thought I could feel the way I do about Katie about anything in the entire world. Still, it could be the sausages I had for lunch...

Wanna know something cool? A few minutes ago, as I was leaving the Hospital having just delivered our first child, I saw a shooting star. A really big one too.

To me it is amazing to think about what my soon-to-be-new daughter is going to think of the way we live now. I look around my home and see many high-tech gadgets and gizmos (and fantastically hot cars), and think that someday, to her these things will be just more card-reading, gymnasium-sized, lumbering dinosaurs with bunches of geeks looking at them through outrageous eyeglasses.

And I will know as little as my parents do (no offence P&M).

Kids sure are weird.
